General Information

Campers will be registered on a first-come first-served basis. We encourage you to have your registration in as soon as possible.

If you would like we can group children together in cabins if they are going with siblings or friends, however, it may not be possible to place large groups of children going together in the same cabin. It may also be difficult if there are age differences. We will try our best, and we guarantee to place each child with at least one friend of his/her choice.

Camp Lu Lay Lea accepts campers ages 8-14. Online you will also find the Camper/Parent Contract. Please review it with your child before you and your child sign it. We kindly ask that campers leave all electronic devices (cell phones, iPods, etc.) at home.

Camp Tuition now includes store cost

Camp Lu Lay Lea runs a small store/concession stand that sells pop, candy, snacks, water, and ice cream. Campers have the opportunity to go to our store twice a day where they can buy one item to eat and one item to drink per opening. (2024 Note:  Unfortunately we had to raise our store fee from a recommended amount of $20-$30 which is now included in our camper cost. For years we have tried our best to keep that amount to $20, but found that it limits what items we could provide.) We are hopeful that we can now provide an outstanding selection of goodies! Store money is no longer refundable at the end of camp.

Medications & Medical Coverage

All medications that are brought must be in the original prescription bottles with specific instructions written out. Medications are collected and reviewed with the health director during registration. In case of a medical emergency, parents will be notified and we will place your child under the care of the physicians at the MyMichigan Medical Center in West Branch. The address for this facility is 2463 South M-30 and the phone number is (989) 345-3660. We must have your medical insurance company, number, and the camper’s social security number for hospital use. Be sure to fill out the Heath Information form.

Checking Into Camp

Check-in is Sunday between 1-3 p.m. We want to make sure we have all the correct information from parents at check-in and want to answer any questions you may have.  For this reason, check-in may be a lengthy process. If you must register at a different time please call to make arrangements. During registration, you can pay your remaining camp fee and deposit store money into your camper’s store account. You will also take care of any other health concerns at this time. We welcome you to come early and join our opening chapel service at 12:30 p.m. Take note, there is no time between chapel and check-in. Please eat lunch ahead of time. The first meal to be served on Sunday will be dinner.

Checking Out of Camp

Check-out time is Saturday between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. State law requires us to have a parent release form signed and on file, which is found in the brochure. Parent(s) or designated person is to pick up the camper at his/her cabin then stop at the checkout point to sign them out and pick up meds.
